Thank you to our Founders: the Jaffes, the Newmans, the Shales, Bernie Schwartz, the Natters, Belle Ross and all the others who wanted an Orthodox Ashkenazic Shul in their new neighborhood, so they BUILT one with blood, sweat, and tears.
Ohr Torah was founded by residents of the newly constructed North Woodmere. Many of our Founders are Holocaust survivors. Click here to see more, including a video of our Founders telling how they built Ohr Torah.
With both Ashkenazic and Sephardic services lead by Rabbis of both traditions, as well as a large and beautiful catering facility, Congregation Ohr Torah is the center of Jewish life in North Woodmere.
